Testimonial

"It was one of life's most wonderful coincidences when I heard about Pavitra through a relative of mine. I thought furnishing an entire new house would be chaotic and a headache to execute, but working with Pavitra made it not only easy as a breeze but exciting as well. Not many designers would take a client's personal taste into consideration when planning a space, luckily I ended up with someone who does. I've met many interior designers but Pavitra's name always comes first to mind when friends or family ask me for a recommendation."

Design Days Dubai,2013- Feat. Gallery Seomi

Gallery Seomi was established to represent Contemporary fine arts from Korean artists.

Kang Myung Sun is one of them, Kang applies traditional lacquering techniques which are two thousand years old in an attempt to feature the delicate and iridescent quality of mother of pearl. The work on this wall shelf/unit is so intricate; I was actually surprised at how light in weight it was, that really is a mark of great workmanship.

Bae Se Hwa and his “Steam Series” is inspired by the dynamic yet gentle image of landscape. His furniture exceeds its boundaries, however carries clear function and structure to be categorized as a sculpture.

Another interesting piece was this stool made from ceramic, lovely for an outdoor space.

I hope you have enjoyed learning about these amazing artists from Korea! Have a safe weekend.... till next time "Stay Funky"
